The KayOscars
Dreamed up by the Kayos team in 2000, these fun, tongue in cheek awards ceremonies were a send up of the Oscars and saw artists receive awards for major roles played in tv commercials. The delight of the KayOscars was that they showcased the winning audition along with the final commercial.
The events ran for five 'seasons' generating over R300K for charity, with a finale at the CTICC in 2006. Red carpets, limousines, screaming fans, paparazzi and famous MCs like Alan Committee and Cokey Falkow were all instrumental in creating an experience the industry has never forgotten.
